Copyright Disclaimer
Effective Date: May 9, 2026 · Last Updated: May 9, 2026
Recipeezy is operated by Kajunga Creations LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company. This Copyright Disclaimer explains how copyright applies to the recipes and content on Recipeezy and outlines what is and isn't acceptable use of the Service.
1. Recipes and Copyright — The Basics
Under U.S. copyright law, a list of ingredients is generally not protected by copyright. However, the creative expression in a recipe — including the written instructions, descriptions, headnotes, photographs, and any narrative or commentary — is protected by copyright and belongs to its original author or publisher.
This means:
- Acceptable: Saving a recipe for your personal collection, adapting it for your own use, or sharing it occasionally with a friend or family member — much like writing down a recipe a friend told you about after tasting their dish.
- Not Acceptable: Copying a recipe word-for-word from a cookbook, food blog, magazine, or other published source, including the author's instructions, headnotes, photographs, or descriptive text, and then sharing or distributing it broadly through Recipeezy.
If you'd like to save a recipe inspired by a published source, the most respectful approach is to:
- Rewrite the instructions in your own words
- Note the original source for your own reference
- Avoid copying photographs or descriptive narrative from the original
2. Recipeezy Is for Personal, Non-Commercial Use
Recipeezy is designed as a personal recipe manager. The sharing feature is intended for casual, personal sharing — for example, sending a recipe to a friend or family member who asked for it.
You agree not to use Recipeezy to:
- Mass-distribute copyrighted recipes you did not create
- Republish material from cookbooks, food blogs, magazines, or other copyrighted sources without permission
- Use the Service for any commercial publishing, redistribution, or aggregation purpose
- Upload photographs, illustrations, or written content owned by someone else without permission
3. Your Responsibility
When you save or share content on Recipeezy, you represent that:
- You created the content yourself, or
- You have permission from the rights holder, or
- Your use is otherwise lawful (for example, content that is in the public domain)
You are solely responsible for the content you upload and share. Kajunga Creations LLC is not liable for copyright infringement committed by users of the Service.
4. What We Do If We Receive a Copyright Complaint
If a copyright holder notifies us that material on Recipeezy infringes their rights, we will:
- Review the claim
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content where appropriate
- Notify the user who uploaded the content
- In cases of repeated infringement, terminate the user's account

5. Recipeezy's Own Content
The Recipeezy name, the Kajunga Creations LLC name, our logos, the design and layout of the Service, and any non-user-generated content (such as help documentation or tutorials) are the property of Kajunga Creations LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use them without our written permission.
6. A Note on the Spirit of Recipe Sharing
Cooking is a tradition built on sharing. Recipes get passed from grandparents to grandchildren, from neighbors over fences, and from friends over dinner. Recipeezy is built to support that spirit — the casual, personal exchange of recipes among people who love food.
What we ask is simple: respect the people who write cookbooks, run food blogs, and create content professionally. If you love a recipe enough to save it, that's the best compliment a creator can get. Just don't republish their work as if it were a free resource for the world.
